Learn About Rabbi Ed's Cancer Journey and Mission
Rabbi Dr. Ed Weinsberg (Ed.D., D.D.) is a prostate and skin cancer survivor, an ordained Rabbi, an author, and a healthcare educator with a doctorate in gerontology. He is also an Intimacy Coach and a Certified Sexuality Counselor through AASECT – the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists. He helps individuals and couples renew personal relationships disrupted by cancer, other major illnesses, and treatment side-effects. Guided by his heart-centered coaching, men and women learn to reignite intimacy physically, emotionally and spiritually — loving and living with renewed joy.
In both the written and spoken word Rabbi Ed enables clients to identify and overcome their vulnerabilities. He accomplishes this by getting them to tackle painful issues such as negative body self-image, reduced sexual functioning and desire (libido), along with related anxiety, while building on their strengths. In doing so he helps clients fulfill their quest for renewed, deeper loving after cancer and other chronic illnesses. Rabbi Ed’s willingness to give generously of his time and effort has strengthened individuals and couples alike.
Rabbi Ed’s intimacy coaching services complement his previous 30 years of empathic, compassionate congregational and chaplaincy counseling and community work. His writings throughout his career reveal his commitment to serve humanity in an authentic, informative, upbeat and often humorous manner, no matter how serious the issues at hand.
He is the author of two national award-winning books: Conquer Prostate Cancer: How Medicine, Faith, Love and Sex Can Renew Your Life (an Amazon paperback prostate illness bestseller), and Reigniting Intimacy and Sexuality after You’re Ill (a Kindle and Smashwords e-book), and he posts resources at their companion websites, www.ConquerProstateCancer.com and www.LovingAfterCancer.com. He has also published articles in national publications like Cure and Coping with Cancer magazines. His appearances on ABC-TV 7 (Sarasota, FL) and Good Morning America (New York City), and his various local, national and international radio interviews and printed articles, are listed in his Media Room.
Rabbi Ed’s work has been endorsed by thought-leaders like Rabbi Harold Kushner (author of When Bad Things Happen to Good People), Dr. John Gray (Men are from Mars, Women Are from Venus), and Dr. Bernie Siegel (Faith, Hope and Healing: Inspiring Lessons Learned from People Living with Cancer), and by numerous cancer patients, survivors and their healthcare providers.
